About Us
Who we are
Greenfingers community project was founded in 2012 by like minded gardeners as a
Self funded allotment. Our allotment reflects a wide range of ages and gardening experience from the local community.
We are a friendly and informal group working together in an organisation following
Both council and site rules in creating a sustainable environment. Although growing vegetables is the main aim of the allotment many plot-holders grow flowers and fruit and treat the allotment as an extension of their home garden
What we offer
We have a range of plots suitable for all needs and abilities, from full sized plots to raised beds. The larger sized plots have the option of placing your own sheds, polytunnels or greenhouses if you wish but we also have the use of larger communal greenhouses and a polytunnel available to all plot holders.
There are toilet facilities onsite plus a large community shed where our meetings, craft days and events are held but its also a great place to get out of the cold and have a chat. Next to the communal shed is a seating area with barbeque and pizza oven which gets regular use throughout the summer months.
Friends and families are welcome to join us, especially at our events which are held throughout the year. We even have a corner plot dedicated to the local school where, with the help of our members, they learn how rewarding it is to grow vegetables from seed.
